Forde stays as BLP’s second vice-chairman

St Thomas MP Cynthia Forde has been re-elected second vice-chairman of the Barbados Labour Party.

Cynthia Forde received 82 votes.
Ian ‘Cupid’ Gill got 67 votes when he went up against Forde.

She received 82 votes while Ian Cupid Gill, who challenged her for the position as the party’s 76th annual conference continued today, secured 67.

The election was the only one held today as the others took place yesterday.

Opposition Leader Mia Mottley was re-elected unopposed to the positions of political leader and chairman.

Also returned to their positions were MP for St Joseph Dale Marshall (first vice-chairman); Pat Parris (third vice-chairman) and Dr Jerome Walcott (general secretary).

Incumbent Treasurer Douglas Skeete did not seek re-election and former MP Reginald Farley was elected to that post unopposed.
