Twenty-four hours after Barbados TODAY highlighted the plight of residents in several St Michael communities who had complained that a canal which runs through Halls Road was a breeding ground for mosquitos, the cleanup effort has started.

Today, workmen with heavy equipment moved into the area after people living in Bibby’s Gap, Chase Road, Ellis Village and Halls Road claimed they were falling sick with symptoms associated with dengue fever and chikungunya.
