Less than 24 hours after being shot while on the beach at Fitts Village, St James with his son, Nepaul Trotman has died.

He succumbed to his injuries last night at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) where he was being treated for the gunshot injury.

Police are now looking for a murder suspect.

Trotman, who lives in the area, was with his toddler son on the beach around 11 am when a man reportedly walked up to him and opened fire.

The shooter fled the scene.

The child was not injured, but the wounded Trotman was taken to the QEH in a private vehicle.

Investigations are continuing.
