UPDATE-Road fatality on Spring Garden
Following this morning’s fatal accident on Spring Garden, the body of the victim, 44 year old Rosean Moore of Danesbury, Black Rock, St Michael was removed from the scene around noon. Moore, a pedestrian, died on the spot after she was struck by a gray Toyota Corolla motor car while walking just outside the desalination plant.
Her mother Carrol subsequently identified her body. With tears streaming down her eyes, the mother told Barbados TODAY that Moore, a Jehovah Witness, was at the time about to embark on her usual Saturday morning door to door missionary work.
Lawmen had closed off a section of the road near Brighton following the 8:45 a.m. accident. That busy section of the highway has since reopened.
In a release this afternoon, police confirmed that the car was driven by 72 year old Adolf Mayers.
Lawmen also said that their investigations revealed that Moore was walking on the left shoulder of the roadway, heading in the direction of Bridgetown when she was struck by the car, travelling in the same direction.
Investigations are continuing.
