Service signals Independence Celebrations

Scores of residents flocked to the Christ Church Parish Church yesterday morning to attend the service that kicked off the 2014 Community Independence Celebrations. The service, attended by Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley, other Government officials and Parish Ambassadors, was the first activity on the calendar of events for this year.

“This year, the very important theme Uniting A Nation, One Community At A Time embraces not only communities, but individuals as well,” Lashley said. “It serves to celebrate the importance of nationhood. But at the same time, we do that through the inspiration and the eyes of our young people.”
