Zulu faces

Over the past two years, Zulu International has established itself as a band to watch out for during Crop Over and this year, it certainly did not disappoint.

Officials report that they sold out their entire 2014 band in three days after it was chosen by none other than the Bajan queen herself Rihanna to be the one she would jump with in 2013.

Through the creative direction of the band’s designer and co-producer Lauren Austin, the costumes each year just keep getting more spectacular. And, Austin’s designs for 2014 did not disappoint.

Based on the theme Once Upon A Time, inspiration was drawn from well known folk tales and fairy stories, creating a beautifully put together collection that fable characters, bringing them firmly into Zulu territory!

Today, in our final homage to Crop Over 2014, we bring you some stunning make-up looks from Zulu’s recent photo shoot, featuring the vibrant colours and intricate designs of the gorgeous headpieces that formed part of the band’s costumes for Kadooment 2014.

The photo shoot was done in collaboration with Caribbean Bazaar and M.A.C Cosmetics.
