Rihanna to buy football club?

Rihanna plans to buy a football club in the UK following her excitement at this summer’s World Cup.

The pop princess enjoyed the tournament in Brazil so much she has set her sights on establishing a football academy in Barbados before branching out into ownership.

A source said: ‘At first we thought Rihanna’s desire to be involved with soccer on a business level would soon blow over. We figured she was still on a high from the World Cup.

‘But now it’s becoming clear she really is serious. She’s talking about setting up a football academy in her native Barbados. Then her big dream is to be involved with a UK club.’

While Rihanna has designs on getting her hands on a British team, the 26-year-old beauty has also reportedly been considering options closer to her Tinsel Town home.

A source told the Daily Star: ‘Britain is like a second home to her, although she’s also hinted she may do something with an LA team.’(Daily Mail)

You go RiRi. Lots of respect. Bajans should love Rihanna she has been true to her people and her country even when we turn our backs on her. This is defintely a good thing for the barbadian youths. I would like to see Barbados one day at the World Cup.

Does she support the various sporting events and athletes of her home country? If so, great. If not, Barbados should ask for her help. The country is suffering from cutbacks and job losses and it will trickle down to the athletes and sports for young people.

I’m so sorry , I maybe shouldn’t even say this but Rihanna doesn’t owe Barbados anything, her money is her money and the way bajans trash her, she really shouldn’t. Yet, hats off to her of she does but I don’t think Bajans should expect or look to her for anything and most definitely not trash her if she doesn’t. With the way we treat her, we have no right to ask. The state of our athletics is the fault of the people who run it, her giving them funding won’t fix the crappy system employed any whose.

Help Barbados How?…As I see it she is a walking commercial for Barbados. ..The government couldn’t afford all those dollars for marketing the island…whether your job pays you $5…$50. … $500 or
$5 000 000 you should be able to spend it as you see fit..please give this a rest…it boggles my mind how folks come up with the idea that this young lady owes Barbados anything…

Marcus Skeete Jackass without a tail. Times are very hard for some citizens in Barbados and yes you are correct she can spend her money and she don’t own you all anything. It’s a good thing we don’t have that selfish attitude, first self abd self last. We work hard for our wages in the UK some is given to charties that help the under priviledge and when we visit Bim we also give. Some of you don’t know the meaning of comnunity spirit until wanna stomach touching ya back.

Lau Broome-Webster another hypnated Jackass without a tail. You need food in your stomach in order to give you energy to work. What is wrong with hand outs or help until you can do better? The Lord help those who help themselves. Pride is one thing reality is another.
