Three St Michael residents charged following attack on police
Police have arrested and formally charged three people following this week’s public disturbance which occurred at Wilkinson Road, Richmond Gap, Black Rock, St. Michael.
Police have since reported that two of their officers were attacked on Wednesday, July 9 while in pursuit of a suspect.
Amid claims by residents of police brutality, the lawmen have relayed a different version of the story which is that the suspect was invited into a house at Wilkinson Road by a female, and that the responding officers were “attacked, assaulted, obstructed and received injuries” while seeking to arrest the suspect, who was able to get away.
Immediately following Wednesday’s incident, a large police convoy descended on the area.
Charmaine Sharon Marshall-Greene, 42, of Wilkinson Road, Richmond Gap, has been jointly charged with 20 year old Shaddieze Greene of obstructing and assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty. The younger resident also faces a charge of resisting a police constable in the execution of his duty.
A third person, 47 year old Terry Greene of 2nd Avenue, Chapman Lane, St. Michael is accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The trio was expected to appear in the District A Magistrate’s Court today.
