Court appearance for Jolly Roger shooter
A 26 year old man today appeared in the District A Magistrates’ Court to answer charges of causing serious bodily harm and use of a firearm.
This follows Thursday’s shooting incident aboard the Jolly Roger cruise vessel that left 23 year old Rashidi Branch of Eden Lodge, St Michael nursing a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Damian Pinder of 4th Avenue, Pickwick Gap, St Michael was subsequently charged in connection with the shooting and appeared in the District A Magistrates ‘Court today to answer the charges.
In the wake of this incident, lawmen have issued a reminder to pleasure crafts owners that it is their responsibility to provide a safe environment for their patrons to socialize. “The force stands ready to assist the operators to ensure that the regulations are adhered to. Owners should employ effective security measures to remove the threat of injury to persons who attend events on their crafts and to prohibit the use of illegal drugs,” the notice from police said.
