Charles Critchlos (L) receives his Employee of the Year award from Minister of Industry and Commerce, Donville Inniss.

Charles Critchlow has been named Employee of the Year by Roberts Manufacturing Company Limited.

He received the honour at an awards ceremony and dinner held tonight at the Hilton Barbados Resort to celebrate the company’s 70th anniversary.

The majority of the firm’s 160 employees, along with the company’s trading partners and well wishers were present.

Addressing the event, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Donville Inniss, said: “Today we celebrate not just a corporate entity that has been with us for 70 years, but more importantly, all that that is embodied in this company. Your history from humble beginnings in 1944… the foreign exchange saved and earned for the island and the taxes paid, are all instructive of what we are celebrating here this evening”.

Minister Inniss added that the company should be admired for maintaining high industry standards.

“I am sure that whilst much has changed within and around Roberts Manufacturing, your core principles of adhering to the highest standards for your products and the recognition of the quality of your staff have remained and have been responsible for your success,” he said further.
