Shooting incident in the Pine

Police are reporting that a 46 year old resident was shot in his right leg during a shooting incident at  Blackman Field, the Pine, St. Michael last night.

The  victim, whose name has not yet been released, was also allegedly robbed of his gold chain during the incident which occurred just after 9pm.

From initial investigations, lawmen say the victim was walking along the road when two men armed with guns attacked him and stole his chain from his neck.

He was taken to the QEH by ambulance where he was treated and discharged.

Investigations are continuing.

    This appears a random attack and there is no end in sight to the escalation of crime on the Island, there being so many quite desperate people around.All very sad.

    I have to admit that shootings seem to happen more often but the rise isn’t as drastic as some think. Its just these things get reported more often now
