Wesley Hall girl rounds off Common Entrance top ten
Wesley Hall Primary School is now praising their golden girl Shaliyah Wood as she is not only the school’s top girl but also rounds off the island’s top 10 in this year Common Entrance Exam.
When Barbados TODAY met up with Shaliyah was, as expected, elated about accomplishing that feat.
“I feel excited and satisfied that all of my hard work has paid off and the results are finally here; I did the best I can do. My teachers feels satisfied that all of her teaching skills havepaid off and I want to thank the Lord, friends, family, my teacher Mrs Bovell and lesson teacher who helped me through this,” the 11-year-old said.
The top girl has also started planning for her future at Harrison College, saying that when the new school term starts in September, she will do her best and will participate in many extra-curricula activities to come out on top again.
Her mother Lisa Wood was also ecstatic.
“I don’t even know if I have words to explain how I truly feel,” the proud mother said. “I know she is a hard working girl and I expected very good results from her.”
