Comedy show heading to Florida
Laff-It-Off 2014 will be going international this month.
After a successful 2014 show, entitled Yuh Got To Pay, director Cicely Spencer-Cross revealed that after a final upcoming comedy show at the Wildey Gymnasium on June 8, the team will be heading to Florida for a performance at the Broward College’s Omni Auditorium on Saturday, June 28.
She made the remarks at the recent presentations of the two main door prizes for Laff And Win, the promotion that was part of their 2014 season.
“Most people have said that this year’s Laff-It-Off is the best, but you are never as good as your next production, but I wouldn’t say best because I’m sure we can get even better. We are hoping to continue the tradition by having a comedy show at the Gymnasium on June 8 where we are spreading our wings beyond this show and going Caribbean. We are hoping to have comedians from throughout the Caribbean to come and participate in this show on June 8.
“From there we are going to spread our wings even further and we are hoping to go to Fort Lauderdale at the end of June, so hopefully we are getting bigger and bigger and in this our third anniversary we are hoping to come with just as dynamic a show as we have been doing and maybe we would like to get international and put Barbados on the map
in terms of spreading our wings as far afield as possible,” said Spencer-Cross.
The grand prize of a trip for two on LIAT to any of its destinations, was won by Heather Smith-Neblett, while second prize of a Samsung 32-inch LED television, compliments of Shop Smart Inc., was won Anthony Sanguinetti. (PR)
