Stop housing development!

By George Alleyne

Dwight Sutherland

MP for St George South, Dwight Sutherland, wants a halt to housing development in the St George valley, and concessions granted to small farmers.

Speaking at a Barbados Labour party branch meeting last night, he pointed to current preparations in Lower Greys for construction of a number of housing units on an estimated two acres.

“That is an area that use to produce some good potatoes,” he said.

Additionally, he thinks small farmers should be given concessions similar to those given to some areas of the tourism sector.

“We can’t give all the concessions to [Sandals owner] Butch Stewart”, Sutherland said.

Arch Chronicles, the joke is on you.
There is nothing in this that could win Mr. Sutherland political fame.
As a matter of fact,if every one was thinking like you,he would be at a lost.
He is taking a huge stand in asking this,It may not be popular but he is So Correct.
Those houses could be built somewhere else.and a little help to the farmers would go a long way.
Not to forget, the jailing of Crop Thieves.
