Elderly couple beaten and robbed

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary at Richmond Plantation, St Peter in which an elderly couple was attacked and robbed by two masked men.

Lawmen say the culprits, armed with cutlasses, entered the residence of Hutson and Alice Brome of Richmond Plantation around 6:30 pm yesterday and carried out their assault.

The culprits took an undisclosed amount of cash and the couple’s car — a white Chevrolet Aveo, registration number E-234.

Anyone who may have information on this incident is asked to call the police at 211 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477).

I agree, many hit the like button but not that they like the act. I do it sometimes without a comment. Lots of people are unemployed but they were always many who refused to work. These actions are disgraceful and I believe most right thinking Barbadians are against such.

Folks react to things based on their interpretation , experience, & see things thru their lenses. so why do we continue to question & comment about the like button? Just concentrate on ur meaning, ur comments and move on.

this has to stop, throw away the key. Would they do this to their own parents or grandparents. As for the car, how long you think can hide it in Barbados

This is a really hurtful story. Was it really necessary to beat an elderly couple in their 80s and 90s. Unreal! These men want killing!

This is what I don’t like to see and hear. Everytime tourists come and spend a little holiday down here in this sweet land of Barbados something bad like this happen. May those who committed this worthless and senseless act be caught and brought to justice because there’s no excuse blaming all this on Recession.

Listen all of you who obviously have nothing better to do than make ridiculous comments to something you know nothing about. These 2 beautiful, kind, caring and wonderful 90 year old barbadian human beings happen to be part of my family and they were innocently watching television when they were attacked with machettiis and beaten and tied up. and robbed The bajan newspaper could not even get their names correct. in their report..very sad. lets hear some sympathy for them and not your egos attacking each other.

sorry, I spelt Machete incorrectly: Full Definition of MACHETE

: a large heavy knife used for cutting sugarcane and underbrush and as a weapon
you guys talk of weapons maybe only knowing guns, can you imagine being attacked with a machete with the possibility of being cut up… a gun is painless in contrast. please only post comments on fact and not on what you think is the truth. these poor people have had the worse experience of their life and it has affected their whole family…none of them will ever be the same. please wish them well instead of trying to post stuff that you know nothing about. thanks. lets continue to s how our human side of compassion and sympathy for all of them.
