Water outage closes BCC

Classes at the Barbados Community College had

to be dismissed early today after a water outage.

Ralph Alleyne of the Barbados Water Authority

told a Barbados TODAY team this afternoon

that this had occurred as a result of a burst water

main adjacent the Howell’s Cross Road, St Michael

school. Classes were cancelledjust before eleven

this morning.

This afternoon when the BT team visited the

affected areas of Howell’s Cross road, My Lord’s

Hill, Ivy, Licorish village water had not yet been

restored but Alleyne was optimistic that it would be

fixed shortly as workmen had already dug a 40-foot

hole and were busy prepping for the repairs as they

awaited materials.

School is expected to resumed tomorrow. (KC)
