Think twice before giving HPV vaccine, authorities told

Health and education authorities are being advised to think twice before giving pre-teen girls a vaccine to prevent cervical cancer.

Director of the Pure Sex Centre Ambrose Carter says parents need to know what they’re getting their children into before even one child is vaccinated.

We at the Pure Sex Centre believe it is only produence for them to say what are the downsides of Gardasil,” he said in a brief telephone interview with Barbados TODAY.

His comments came after Minister of Health John Boyce announced yesterday, at the opening of the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology at Hilton Barbados, that from next January the vaccine will be available to pre-teen girls at secondary schools.

He insisted that the intervention will reap significant benefits by reducing the incidence of cancer in young women.

Boyce said medical opinion “comes down heavily” on the side of the HPV vaccine, although acknowledging there could be some side effects as with any other vaccine.

However, he said the choice would remain with the parents of the children.

My advice to parents out there put this matter before the Lord before you subject your daughters to that vaccine. I pray that God will guide you into your decision.

Not my daughter. Sorry but no vaccine with the amount of side effects that has should be given to any human.
