Boys charged in school sex controversy
Two teenage boys have been charged following investigations into the newspaper publication of two school children having sex in a classroom.
One of them is also facing drug charges.
Police say the juveniles, one 16 and the other 15, are charged with taking an indecent photograph sometime between September 1 and October 30, 2013.
In a statement issued today, police said the boys were arrested following the investigation relating to the Nation newspaper article which appeared on October 26, 2013 and was accompanied by a picture of the boy and girl having sex.
As a result of a warrant executed at the 16-year-old’s residence on Monday, five cannabis plants were found under cultivation in pots and buckets and the boy has also been charged with possession and cultivation of cannabis.
That boy will appear in court today.
The two are expected to appear in court today.
Police say investigations are still ongoing.
