Hotel robbery foiled

A failed bid to rob the Divi Southwinds Hotel at St Lawrence Gap in Christ Church has left staff badly shaken and a security guard undergoing counselling. Hotel general manager Alvin Jemmott told BarbadosTODAY that the guard, who is contracted by a security firm, was attacked last night, in which the assailant failed to get any money.

Jemmott also expressed relief that no one was hurt either, when the perpetrator apparently scaled the perimeter fence of the facility. Police are investigating
the matter. (EJ)
