Chief: No regrets

With Fire Week almost at an end, Chief Fire Officer Wilfred Marshall this evening noted that he did not regret a moment of his 38 years in the service.

Speaking at his parade and award ceremony at Arch Hall Fire Service, the chief said: “I am still always very excited when I am required to talk about this department. What I have known from the start is that this is a great platform from which one can serve with selfless and unquestioned distinction.”

He said the Fire Service had taught him high standards and expectations, which were qualities associated with the organization.

In the ceremony, several officers were presented the prestigious Queen’s Diamond Jubliee Award, while numerous others were awarded service medals of honour. (LB)
