Two shine in archery

sportsjudithmagrasandmarthapadmoreThe Barbados Archery Association’s senior archers Judith Magras and Martha Padmore recently represented Barbados in the Olympic Senior Games held in Cleveland, Ohio. Both did Barbados proud in obtaining medals in their particular categories.

Judith Magras continued her fine form in the 55 to 59 years group and was able to receive the gold medal with a score of 1550/1800 from a group of four competitors. This was just three points shy of the games record of 1553 points held by Suzie Sanchez of California, USA and Magras now has shot the second highest score in this event for this age group.

Martha Padmore shooting in the 50 to 54 years group got silver with a score of 1297 out of three competitors. Padmore and Magras are preparing for the Huntsman Senior Games in October 2013 where more medals are expected.

The two archers received funding from Arc Irrigation and Fitzwilliam, Stones and Alcazar which assisted the athletes to attend the Games.
