Ten ready for battle in Teen Talent contest

Ten young Barbadians are scheduled to perform when the third preliminary of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Competition comes off this Sunday at the Divi Southwinds Resort in Christ Church.

The event, which gets underway at 7 p.m., will feature eight competitors in the 13 to 21 age-group category and two in the over-21 group.

In the former, the performers are:

Nykasie Springer, singing: Footprints in the Sand and Jesus Take the Wheel.

Quantya Rudder, singing: Top of the World and You’re Still the One.

Lekenya Prescod, singing: That name and Simply the Best.

Mishael Haynes, singing: Can’t Let Go and His Strength is Perfect.

Rashida Codrington, singing: Somewhere Over the Rainbow and I Surrender.

Amanda Mascoll, singing: When I was your Man and Set Fire to the Rain.

Marcus Myers, singing: A Song for You and Let’s Get it On.

Nykeyah Gittens, singing: Almas and This Woman’s Work.

The two competitors in the Over 21 category are Jaleesa Greaves, singing One and Only and Anyway; and Paul Legall, with Stay and Angels. (RRM)
