Football tournament in the North

The St. Lucy Constituency Council is staging a Seven-A-Side football tournament which began yesterday at the Connell Town, St. Lucy playing field with an opening ceremony and matches attended by the chairman of the council, Ashley Toppin and St. Lucy MP Denis Kellman.

Twelve teams drawn from across St. Lucy will battle each other in games slated for three playing fields in the parish. The aim of the competition is to revive football in St. Lucy and also to select a team for the annual David Thompson Memorial Football Tournament.

Four teams played yesterday, Unity Masters versus Woodantz Ballers and Mix Fruits versus G-Money, and both matches ended in 1-1 draws.
