It was neither late December. Nor back in ‘63. But oh what a night! The inaugural Limacol Caribbean Premier League had a spectacular and successful launch at Kensington Oval last night with a thrilling victory for the Barbados Tridents over the St. Lucia Zouks.

A profusion of colour, pageantry and excitement, as well as quality cricket, was the order of the night as a CARICOM and world audience feasted on a spectacle unlike anything they had ever witnessed.

St. Lucia Zouks captain Darren Sammy hits Jason Holder for six.

Cheerleaders added some spice to the occasion.
