KINGSTON — Overflow of raw sewage yesterday forced at least four stores on West Street in downtown Kingston to turn away customers and pull down their shutters early.

The store operators say the problem, resulting from several blocked drains in the area, has caused severe discomfort for their workers and customers.

“We are calling out for help and attention. This has been going on for too long; we need the authorities to come and address the problem,” Leslie Chung, operator of Genesis Wholesale, told the Jamaica Observer. (Observer)
