Barbados captain Corey Greaves copped four personal gold and two silver medals as he led Barbados to top position among adult competitors at the Caribbean Karate Championships held on Saturday and Sunday at the Barbados Community College.

Barbados ended the tournament with 18 gold medals, 16 silver and ten bronze and in addition to Greaves, there were some fine performances from the likes of Andre Lovell, Kyle Fenty and Michael Mercer.

A large crowd was present as Barbados took their fifth straight title in the men’s team kumite competition.

Stephenson in the individual kata, as well as Tyrese Benskin and Martin King.

Guyana emerged as the most outstanding team among the junior competitors.

In addition to Barbados and Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and Antigua were represented at the tournament.
