Schools table tennis competition gets underway

The National Sports Council 14 & under Inter-school Tennis Competition served off today at the Barbados Tennis Centre.

The competition which is being staged in conjunction with the Barbados Tennis Association is in its second year and the students from Frederick Smith Secondary, Harrison College, Queen’s College and The St. Michael School were eager to rekindle old rivalries as the race to claim this year’s top spot began.

This year the competition takes on a slightly different approach in that there will be no team event. There will only be the individual competition which will lead to some very competitive matches as there is a very real possibility that a school could take the top two places or even sweep the titles in the males, females or both divisions.

Today’s results were: (Boys) Queen’s College’s Xavier Lawrence defeated Callum Sumpter of Harrison College 8-0
