Action-packed racing on Sunday

ATV’s will be making an appearance at Bushy Park on Sunday.

Over 40 cars are expected to take part in this weekend’s Beacon Insurance-sponsored Barbados Auto Racing League’s Festival of Speed race meeting at the Bushy Park, St. Philip raceway.

According to chairman of the league, Stefan Hinds, entries are expected to top the 40 mark as this is the final racing event at the circuit before construction commences on the new $15 million multi-purpose racing facility immediately following the staging of this Sunday’s event.

The day is shaping up to be one of the more exciting action-packed race days ever staged at the forty-two year old St. Philip facility. In addition to the regular race card, fans will be treated to an exhibition of exciting Go Kart racing featuring the youth in the Beacon Kart Challenge competition.

Drag racing including a BARL versus BADD challenge match-up and a first ever ‘BIG MOUTH’ race match-up is expected to create a buzz among spectators.

As an added attraction there will be guest appearances from a number of big bike riders with their girlfriends snugly perched at their backs. A prize for the sexiest girl on the back of the bike will be up for grabs.

Members of the ATV off-road and motor Cross posse have also been invited to showcase their talents with hair-rising stunts.
