cropover2013ravurzkadoomentLC Ravurz Kadooment Band is taking revellers to the movies this Crop-Over.

Instead of settling down with a large bag of popcorn, a drink and some nachos, revellers and onlookers will get to see some of most popular movies play out on the road on Grand Kadooment.

Movies in Crop-Over is the name of their band and last night at the launch held at Olympus VIP, sponsors, band members, prospective revellers, the media and other specially invited guests got a look at the costumes in the six sections – Digicel 4G Pirates, Battleship, Bond, Batman and Cat Woman, Rio and Bacardi Avatar.

Each section has front and back line costumes which, said Ravurz’ Marlene Wilson also salute the hardworking men and women of the Barbados Defence Force, Coast Guard and the Police Force.

Guests were also treated to a cha cha by Nathan Crawford-Wallis and Richelle Taylor, introduced to the Ravurz Ladies and witnessed a presentation to Anatasia Byer, a member of the band who will be going of to Disney on a six-month stint after pursuing her culinary degree at PomMarine Hotel.

After the costumes were showcased, Party, Sweet Soca and Tune of the Crop Monarch Mikey, and Brett Linton performed and the models and sponsors posed for several photos. (DS)
