Glimpse of festival

cropoverreview2013kartelThe rain did not stop the thousands of the people who wanted to catch the festival fever on Friday night.

The umbrellas came out when the showers came down but Bajans stayed put, setting up chairs and settling down for what was a good show.

It was the Crop-Over 2013 Preview held at National Cultural Foundation’s car park in West Terrace, St. James, on Friday night with a line up of artists that included Soka Kartel, reigning Pic-O-De-Crop Monarch, Red Plastic Bag, Party and Sweet Soca Monarch Lil’ Rick, Peter Ram and Frost,

Billed as This … is a Contagion, the event also featured Ruk-A-Tuk, Sing Out Barbados, Dancin’ Africa and Mosaic as well as Foreday Mornin’ bands DragonFly Mas’ Band, Romp International, Rumatology, Flair and Mas Invasion.

It was more than a glimpse of what this year’s edition of the annual summer festival will be. (DS)
