Significant achievement

It is with profound sadness that we learnt of the passing of Mr. James Emmanuel “Doc” Sisnett, Barbados’ super centenarian and the world’s second oldest man.

To have attained the age of 113 was indeed a significant achievement by Mr. Sisnett and a fine example of the benefits of the investment of successive Barbados Governments in the social development of the nation’s human capital.

Mr. Sisnett was the shining light in Barbados’ meteoric rise as the number two country in the world in terms of the number of centenarians (per capita) it has produced and one of the world’s leading developing countries with respect to the life expectancy of its citizens.

On behalf of the Leader of the Opposition and the Barbados Labour Party family, I extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Sisnett. May he rest in peace and rise in glory!

— Colonel Jeffrey Bostic M.P

Shadow Minister of Social Care Constituency Empowerment & Community Development
