Gift of motherhood
I believe that the greatest gift that can be bestowed on a woman is the gift of being a mother. Many women do not know how lucky they are until they encounter someone who is struggling to have children.
In these harsh economic times, having to maintain children can be a difficult task. The cost of living has sky rocketed, and wages/salaries have not risen so it can be a challenge. Having said that, I will say this, the gift of motherhood should be treasured regardless of the challenges you may face.
I cannot imagine how it feels to have a life inside you, kicking and moving around. After nine months you are in receipt of a beautiful bundle of joy. At first I can only imagine being a first time mom having to get up in the wee hours of the morning to a crying baby who may need feeding or a diaper change — that can be quite an adjustment, but at the end of the day it is all worth it. Hearing the words “mama” or “dada” uttered from your child’s mouth should be a joy.
Many women struggle every day with infertility. They go through periods of depression because of this. So women who have kids should be thankful and love them with all their hearts because they are others out there who may never experience the joy of motherhood. To those women who may be struggling to be a mother I will say this to you — always remember that there are many different roles that we play in life. Your heart’s desire may be to become a mother but that may not be what you are destined to become. Never question why this may be happening to you as you never know what you are being shielded from.
Many mothers say that being pregnant can be the most stressful, but yet beautiful, thing they have ever experienced while others say that when you are pregnant you have one foot inside the grave and the other outside. Never be envious of what others may have or may be experiencing. Some mothers wish they didn’t have the responsibility of having children as there are restricted in where they can go and what they can do. So for those of you who may be feeling down because you are having challenges getting pregnant always remember there are some who wish they could be you.
Always give thanks and be contented with what you have achieved. Never doubt yourself and always believe that anything is possible once you believe in yourself. You are beautifully made and unique — there is no one in the world like you.
“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.” – Epicurus.
Have a wonderful week ahead!!!
