intercessory service for keana banfield on sunday

On Sunday, more prayers will be made for eight-year-old Keana Banfield during an intercessory service at the Christ Church Parish Church.

The service starts at 4:30 pm and is organised by the Christ Church Girls’ School which she attends.

A note on the school’s Facebook page states: “[We] would like to thank everyone who came to our Intercessory Service for Keana Banfield. With our 641 students and 30+ teaching staff, we were able to raise $5,359.02. This money was sent overseas to aid Keana.”

The public is invited and the organisers would like attendees to wear purple because it is Banfield’s favourite colour.

The child was flown to a Miami hospital for urgent medical attention early last month after she became seriously ill. She was diagnosed with staphylococcus and Acute Toxic Shock Syndrome.

A number of fund raising efforts are being undertaken to help with the huge medical bill of more than US $300,000. (DS)
