The music class of the Barbados Community College started off the Portfolio season on a high note last evening.

For just about two hours, 22 students filled the Frank Collymore Hall with the sounds of jazz, classical, pop and Caribbean musical stylings under the theme Ascending: A Crescendo into Greatness.

The students showed great promise for the local music scene, performing some original scores. Others created their own spin on popular tunes like Adele’s Rolling in the Deep and Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jagger.

The Barbados Community College Fine Arts Portfolio Season continues on April 27 with the dance class’ presentation of Out of the Woods.

Theatre Arts students will close the night with Unfinished Women Cry in a No Man’s Land While a Bird Dies in a Gilded Cage on May 4 and 5. (LW)
