The sport of boxing has perhaps been around from the time of the ancient Greeks and has been ranked as one of the most difficult of all sports.
The Amateur Boxing Association of Barbados has in recent times been staging a number of cards and is embarking on a ‘Road Show’ programme where it will be taking the sport to communities throughout Barbados and also seeking to recruit young men and women to the sport.
The Road Show got underway amid occasional showers on Saturday night at the grounds of the Desmond Haynes facility at Holders Hill and attracted a fair crowd which was treated to some good action from youngsters still very much in the embryonic stages of their amateur career. Some were actually doing battle for the first time.
