KINGSTON — Eight people have been arrested for electricity theft after citizens provided information to the Jamaica Public Service Company’s email hotline.

The arrests were made between April 4 and 5 in police operations, the energy provider said.

Several illegal connections were also removed in the operations.

Additionally, two people are to appear before the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court on May 7 for electricity theft following operations in the St Catherine community of Gordon Pen. (Observer)
