catwalk03282013When fashion designer Margaret Best was turning 50, she wanted to do something different.

So instead of the usual party or dinner with family and her closest friends she opted to showcase some her clothing.

It was her first ever fashion show in her 29 years of making clothes and featured pieces made of burlap and cotton.

“I have a lot of clients, all ages, all sizes. … I was nervous but I was comfortable with them. I know they were different. They were just me,” Best said, who started making clothing when she was “a little girl”.

The show entitled BOHEMIAN LIFE, was held in the auditorium at the Barbados Public Workers Credit Union Ltd. Belmont Road St. Michael last Saturday. It was followed by a Cocktail Party. (DS)
