Republic Bank has once again shown its commitment to sporting activity in Barbados.

The bank has thrown its sponsorship weight behind the annual Barbados Tennis Association’s Inter-club Tennis Tournament which is now into its fifth year. Last year’s winner was the now 101 year-old Summerhayes Club which this year has its intention firmly fixed on making it five consecutive championship years.

Managing director and chief executive officer Ian DeSouza recently presented the bank’s sponsorship cheque to the president of the Barbados Tennis Association, Dr. Raymond Forde, as well as branded promotional items to the two teams competing.

This year’s tournament served off on February 16 with games playing weekly at various locations. In accepting of the bank’s contribution, Dr. Forde noted: “The bank has assisted with the growth and success of this tournament throughout the years and the BTA is pleased to continue this relationship.”
