All hands on deck

cleaningthesquareopeningparliamentThere may be some significance, albeit dubious, to the power contained in this water jet that is needed to clean the dirt and grime from this historic fountain in Heroes Square.

For, just a stone’s throw away, stands the “seat of power” — Parliament — which will officially open tomorrow with all the pomp and ceremony. The cleaning of the fountain today was all part of preparations for that State opening, which will involve the use of Heroes Square for the inspection of a Guard of Honour and his taking of the “royal salute” by Governor-General Sir Elliott Belgrave.  (EJ)
