Warner unmoved

regionaljackwarnerpausedPORT OF SPAIN — National Security Minister Jack Warner yesterday dismissed Opposition Leader Dr. Keith Rowley’s new information surrounding the former Security Intelligence Agency operations.

Warner also said he was also not fazed by Rowley’s renewed call for the Prime Minister to fire him.

“I am not fazed in any way. Rowley has a function as the Leader of the Opposition, which he believes should be to destabilise the country, and I have a function to stabilise the country,” said Warner in a brief telephone interview yesterday.

“He is at one end of the continuum and I am at another end… I don’t know what he is talking about. Rowley has a history of making wild charges. There are several cases with the AG on this. I thought this would have tempered his indiscretions. I am not going to dignify any of his wild accusations,” said Warner.

Warner said nothing he has said previously on allegations with respect to the resurrection of the Flying Squad has changed.

A report on the Flying Squad, he said, was submitted to the prime minister.

Warner also pointed out that former government senator now head of the Movement for Social Justice, David Abdulah, and four other persons yesterday protested outside his office.

“I am not fazed by Rowley nor by Abdulah. I firmly believe that they must politicise every issue in this country, hoping to bring down Armageddon and fire and brimstone, but the people of this country not stupid,” said Warner. (Express)
