Rachelle Jean-Marie and Jelani Bartlett have etched their names on Mount Olympus, proving to be the best in the battle on Saturday evening at the annual Queen’s College pageant.
In front of a packed school auditorium, Jean-Marie, protraying Demeter the goddess of harvest, and ‘god of music’ Jelani Bartlett earned other spoils along with their victory. They both won the Best Talent category, while the queen also copped Ms. Punctuality and Most Disciplined. Bartlett walked away with People’s Choice (male).
First runner-up went to Kyusu Belle and Nicholas Grannum, who took home Most Improved male, as well as the sportsmanship award.
Summer Shepherd and Christophe Martin earned second runner-up. In addition, he received Mr. Punctuality, Mr. Photogenic, while Shepherd was also the People’s Choice (female).
Other winners on the night were Gabrielle Bailey who copped Ms. Punctuality.
Jhabrealia Boyce, Leon Cuthbertson and Dominique Best also vied for the top title.
The standing-room-only crowd was treated to modelling, singing, rapping and gravity-defying dancing as part of the entertainment package. (LW)
