The last hurrah!

The Democratic Labour Party will be bringing home a victory tomorrow in Jesus’ name.

That was the comment of one supporter to tonight’s rally of the DLP in Independence Square, the stomping ground of the party and a traditional locale for the last hurrah.

The rally started with performances by Sister Marshall, Promise, Everdene Smart and some of the big names on the local gospel circuit, as the crowd of yellow-clad supporters with placards supporting their favourite candidate waved and danced in solidarity.

The celebrations tonight came after many of the candidates spent the last moments today either in meetings or on the campaign trail reminding voters to come out to the polls.

While about 250,000 persons are registered on the voters list as being eligible to cast their votes tomorrow, only tomorrow night’s final tally will tell if the campaign has done enough for the party to reclaim the government over the Barbados Labour Party. (LB)
