Three remanded in $1M drug find

Three Barbadian fishermen will have to “catch some time” in prison, until they’re ready to re-appear in court on March 7, charged in connection with a one million dollar drugs landing off Paynes Bay in St. James.

Thirty-five-year old Anderson Ricardo Prescod, of Holders Hill, St. James, 25-year-old Corey Antonio Gittens, of College Savannah, St. John, and 49-year-old Dave Ricardo Fenty, of Durants Village, Holders Hill also in St. James are jointly charged with illegal possession of cannabis, importation, possession with intent to supply an trafficking.

The charges arose from an operation conducted last Saturday night by the Police Drug Squad, its Marine Unit and elements of the Regional Security System.

During that exercise, the security forces seized 10 packages of cannabis weighing 550 pounds, with a street value of more than $1 million, along with a fishing boat. (EJ)††
