Garrison’s fate sealed by Foundation B
Foundation B Old Scholars brushed aside Swagga Boutique Garrison Alumni by nine wickets in the fifth annual Christ Church Foundation School Joel Garner Twenty20 tapeball tournament at Dover on Friday night.
In recording their first victory in the Barry Gaskin/Bran Williams Zone D, Foundation B Old Scholars also condemned Garrison Alumni to a third defeat which ended their campaign.
After they were sent in, Garrison scored 99 for eight off 20 overs. Corey Scantlebury topscored with 27, while skipper Rasheed Edwin took three for 17 and Nicholas Brathwaite, two for 24.
Led by unbeaten knocks of 55 with seven fours and one six from Brathwaite and Damien Maynard’s 39, Foundation B reached their target in 13.4 overs.
Earlier, wet conditions caused by rain prevented a ball from being bowled in the match between Livy Hoyte Foundation School and the 2011 champions Fifth Avenue Fashions Coleridge & Parry Alumni in the Irvine King/Hugh Barker Zone C.
The tournament continues on Monday at Briar Hall with Norman/Roy Marshall Brothers Lodge Road opposing Police in the Lewin/Gilpin Jones Brothers Zone B at 7 p.m.
