QEH fraud scam
Two men, a 63 year-old contractor and a 30 year-old clerical officer from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, have been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged half million dollars cash scam at the hospital.
Acting on a report, the Police Fraud Squad conducted an investigation into the matter and jointly charged contractor Gay Harcourt Gibson of Deacons Road, St. Michael and hospital employee, Dwight Robert Jordan.
Both men appeared in court today, jointly accused of 13 counts of theft of money, totally $560,000 belonging to the QEH.
Jordan is facing an additional charges of 12 counts of falsifying accounts, while Gibson has one other charge of money laundering. They have been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison at Dodds, St. Philip until February 25. (EJ)†
