HOUSTON – Jeremy Lin shot five of Houston’s NBA record-equalling 23 three-pointers in a 140-109 romp over Golden State Warriors at the Toyota Centre last night.

Centre Andrew Bogut continued his return from injury with 10 points and nine rebounds in 25 minutes for the Warriors who had no answer to the shooting prowess of the Rockets.

Lin finished with 28 points as teammates Chandler Parsons (16 points) and James Harden (18) hit four three-pointers apiece as the Rockets reached a season-high points total. They also tied a NBA record with 14 three-pointers in the first half and had a season-high 35 assists on 46 field goals overall.

The Rockets put on the shooting display without their best three-point shooter – Carlos Delfino, who sat out the match with a right elbow injury

Houston’s three-point haul equalled the mark set by Orlando against Sacramento in 2009.

Jarrett Jack scored 20 points and David Lee had 18 for the Warriors. The Los Angeles Lakers made it six wins from their past seven games as they downed the Brooklyn Nets 92-83.

Kobe Bryant scored 21 points to help the Lakers overcome the absence of Dwight Howard and Metta World Peace and a late injury to Pau Gasol.

Howard missed the game as he continues to recover from a torn labrum in his right shoulder while World Peace was suspended by the NBA for the game after an incident in Sunday’s contest at Detroit where he grabbed the Pistons’ Brandon Knight around the neck and struck him in the jaw with the back of his open hand. Even so, the Lakers managed to post the win as they battle to reach playoff contention.

“We’re more of a team, we’re sharing the ball, we’re playing better defensively,” said Lakers point guard Steve Nash, who scored 17 points with eight assists.

Gasol fell to the court and, while he stayed in the game for a short time, he eventually departed for the locker room and will have a MRI today.

In other games, Indiana Pacers scored a 15th straight victory with a 100-84 triumph over Atlanta Hawks while Phoenix Suns edged past Memphis Grizzlies 96-90. In Denver, Danilo Gallinari and Ty Lawson each scored 22 points to help the Nuggets to a 112-104 win over Milwaukee Bucks.
