Girls get glamourous!
It was a smaller venue, but the Girlfriends Expo at The Concord Experience over the weekend seemed to have still attracted the numbers.
Aptly named for the groups of women and girls who entered the doors between two uniformed sentries, the expo this year featured, in addition to the fashion shows and cosmetics that always pull a crowd, several services as well.
Throughout the venue women, and some men who came accompanying their ladies, could be seen taking advantage of thing like the spas, the facials and more than a few lined up to try new make-up shades and specials.
Running from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day, if the long lines to enter and the hundreds of cars lining the grassy parking areas were any indication, it seemed a steady stream from opening until close with booth attendants reporting either fair sales or good interest in products from patrons.
Some of the booths included clothing, cosmetics, lingerie, hair, books and the inhouse caf? also kept brisk business throughout the day, as did many of the confectioneries, selling cupcakes and other sweet treats.
Patrons used the opportunity as well to get, in some cases, their first glimpse into the Concorde itself. (LB)
