Princess Margaret and Ellerslie Old Scholars victorious

A fine, unbeaten half-century by former Barbados batsman Sean Armstrong led Princess Margaret Old Scholars to a six-wicket win over Lodge Old Scholars, while Ellerslie Old Scholars beat Swagga Boutique Garrison Alumni by 26 runs in the fifth annual Christ Church Foundation School Joel Garner Twenty20 tapeball tournament at Dover last night.

Opener Armstrong made 68 not out with ten fours as Princess Margaret reached a target of 131 with five balls to spare in the Lee Harford Skeete/Lewiston Wellington Zone A. Arnold Ellis also made his presence felt with a knock of 20 after grabbing three for 29. Garrison’s defeat was their second in the Barry Gaskin/Bran Williams Zone D after they were set 144 for victory.

Leonard Brathwaite had a good all-round match for Ellerslie, topscoring with 33, which included five fours and one six at No. 9, and taking two wickets for 17 runs.
