Read a book!

Even the little ones at the St. Matthew’s Primary School know this is one of the most important things to do.

This afternoon the need was emphasised when story tellers, Deanne Kennedy and Osbert McClean, paid them a special visit at the school in Hothersal Turning, St. Michael while Betty Bug “flew in” for a cameo appearance.

The children were lively and interacted with their guests, listening attentively and some portraying part of stories such as: The Ugly Duckling and The Three Little Pigs when given the opportunity.

In addition to reading, the boys and girls demonstrated their mathematical skills as they assisted Kennedy in Five Little Puppies and 10 Little Rabbits.

Before all the excitement began, the students made it known that they too could perform when they rocked the hall with a remade version of the soca hit Colours by Nathalee and Shantel to the delight of the teachers and the visitors present who in turn sang and bounced along with them. (KC)
