Old Scholars score win
Combermere School Old Scholars survived a few scares to beat Swagga Boutique Garrison Alumni by four wickets in a low-scoring match of the fifth annual Christ Church Foundation School Joel Garner Twenty20 tapeball tournament at Briar Hall, Christ Church last night.
After winning the toss in the Barry Gaskin/Bran Williams Zone D encounter, Garrison lost wickets steadily including three run outs to be all out for 49 in 13.1 overs.
No batsman reached double figures as extras amounted to 32.
Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican was the main destroyer with four for four off 3.1 overs while pacer Dakari Louis took two for 14 off three overs.
Combermere then slipped from 34 for two in the eighth over to 34 for five by the ninth over before winning after 11.5 overs.
Joel C. Leacock topscored with ten.
Corey Scantlebury grabbed three for nine and off-spinner Shamar Cooke, two for eight – both off four overs.
The tournament continues tomorrow with a double-header at Dover.
